Step 4

Upload artworks

Once you have completed the Profile go to the Artworks section to upload those you wish to publish in the fair's online catalog or browse live as a preview.

4.1 Manage the Artworks section

In the Artworks section you can upload artworks that you wish to publish in the fair's online catalog, or browse live as a preview.

Click on the Artworks section, to the right of the Profile section, at the top within your private area.

Once inside, click on Artwork+ in the upper right corner to add an artwork.

You have two options for entering information.

  • "Import from my collection," if you already use Artshell or have participated in previous editions of the fair.
  • Instead, opt for "Enter Manually" to add the data manually. You can fill out the form in Italian and/or English, selecting the language via the Italian or English buttons in the upper right corner.

Once you have completed the compilation, remember to click Save at the top left of the form to store the work's information.

Once saved, the works are saved in draft form. Activate the "Publish to Catalog" command to publish the work to the fair's online catalog. If you want to view only published works click on the Filters icon in the upper right corner and check Online > Published.

To edit an artwork tab click on the pencil in the artwork preview and then again on the pencil at the top inside the tab.

To delete an artwork click on the pencil in the artwork preview and then on the three dots at the top inside the tab, and choose Delete (trash can).

Repeat these steps for all the artworks you want to add.

4.2 Images and/or videos of the artwork

You can upload one or more images or videos of the artwork. Click on the "Add" button to access the media section. From here, you can upload an image by dragging it inside or clicking on the "+" symbol to select it from your PC. Once uploaded, click on the image and then on the "Add" button at the top to place it in the tab.

To add a video, follow the same steps as for images, but click first on the "Video" heading at the top. If you wish to insert a video from Vimeo or YouTube, you can use the "link" symbol on the left, next to the "+" button. Clicking on it will open a video tab where you can directly enter the URL of the video (e.g., https://vimeo.com/329975063) in the "video link" field. Then click on the "Upload" button in the upper left corner. Once successfully uploaded, click again on the video and then on "Add" in the upper left corner to insert it into the tab.

4.3 Artist Name

  • By clicking on this field, you will see the names of the represented artists you have created or imported for your Profile. Choose the artist's name from the list.

If the artist of the work you are uploading is not listed among those already entered, you can create him or her from scratch: click on the "+" button to the right of the empty field, fill in the artist's tab, and click "Save" to add him or her to the artwork's tab.

The name of the artist you added also appears in the Represented Artists section of the profile. Select it with a black checkmark if you want to publish it among the represented artists on the gallery page on the fair's online platform.

  • Fill out and save the artist card that appears within the artwork tab.

4.4 Details and price of the artwork

  • This section is devoted to information about the artwork, such as title, year, technique, size, edition, signature, condition, and medium.

Editor's note: If you enter the price and post the artwork, the price will be visible in the fair's online catalog. You can choose to show or not show the price of the artwork instead when you browse the live preview of the artworks.

  • Price is a required field. Add the price of the artwork, specify the VAT and if necessary, add notes about the price. With the Show/Hide Price button, you can decide whether to show the price of the artwork also on the digital catalog or to hide it.

4.5 Description of artwork and artist biography

  • These 2 text fields allow you to enter a description of the artwork and a brief biography of the artist.
In both you can add a title (optional).

Remember that you can fill out the form manually in either Italian or English, changing the language via the "Italian" or "English" button at the top right of the form.

4.6 Save the artwork sheet

  • Click Save in the upper left corner to save the card.

Upon saving, the artwork will be saved as a draft (gray barred eye).
To publish the artwork you must activate "Publish to Catalog" found in the tab under the title of the artwork.
The tab can be filled in manually in Italian and/or English by changing the language through the Italian or English button at the top right of the tab.
To create other Artworks repeat all the steps described here.
